About Material Detox

IMG_0410

Material Detox is an 19 year old girl in college.  Like most people, she’s trying to figure life out.  She feels as though she puts on a pretty tough act most of the time, but she has her moments of vulnerability and weakness.  She has a terrible haircut that she’s been trying desperately to grow out for a while now, but her hair has refused to grow at more than a snails pace.  This frustrates her a lot.  She’s learning how to embrace herself and love every “flaw” as most people should because humans are all incredible creatures.  She likes the smell of the air after it rains, the feeling of buying shampoo on sale so she can justify a splurge.  Realizing she spent too much on clothing and make-up (the whole quantity over quality thing), she decided that enough was enough and that she needed to save for the luxurious items that she lusts over but could never afford (due to her horrible spending habits).  So now she’s not going to buy any clothing or makeup for 2013 (well, she’s going to give it her best shot!).  Her goal of 2013 was to stop buying makeup and clothes- which she accomplished with some success.  Now in 2014, she is now embarking on living a minimalist lifestyle because she’s realized that life has become much better with less material objects.  She decided that starting a blog would probably best help her keep her resolution.  She’s grateful for all the fellow bloggers who have stumbled upon her blog.  They are the source of her strength and helps her make it through the day.
