I’m going to keep this post short and sweet. If you’ve been here before, you know my goal for 2013 was to pretty much stop buying makeup. Although I wasn’t entirely successful in that endeavor, I did learn some valuable life lessons.
Through those lessons, I have started to embrace a new lifestyle. I’ve started shifting from a material/consumer driven lifestyle to becoming more of a Minimalist. This lifestyle isn’t for everyone, but I think it suits my needs as an individual. Although I still have ways to go, I have found that my new perspective and attitude has made me embrace life more and I feel more fulfilled.
This year, I’m going to be blogging about my experience. I have found that Minimalism is more of a transformative process than a state of being and if you’re interested in this lifestyle, please follow my journey and challenges I face along the way!

So I know it’s been months and months since I’ve posted. Life has been crazy. I would be lying to you if I said the experiment was a success. However, I can say candidly that it was not a failure at all. I really did cut down on my makeup buying habits and rarely buy makeup now unless I absolutely don’t have an alternative.
I think I stuck to my resolution pretty well and have found that I like who I am now more than before. I am not as beauty product obsessed and have really come to appreciate the makeup I already have.
I’m probably going to change up this blog to better fit what I’m doing now so stay tuned.
I’ll admit it, I’m not so great with this blogging thing. In the beginning, I felt that it was easy because I was just writing out how I felt and thought and then I was surprised to even get one like or comment back. The more I wrote, the better I felt and the more motivated I became. I thought “Wow, I can just take a few minutes out of my day and write a short post” then I skipped a day or two. I found that it is really difficult to stay focussed on blogging especially after a long day when all you want to do is pig out and re-watch “Orange is the New Black” on Netflix while snuggled in bed.
Now I’m back in school after a wonderful summer “unplugged” from the internet and I realized I have changed quite a bit in the last year. I’m a lot less “product-crazy”. Don’t get me wrong, I still crave certain products but now I really don’t feel the need to buy makeup constantly or try out new products. I’ve reduced the makeup I use on a daily basis and really have come to appreciate the products I already do possess.
Right now, the top things I’m lusting for are the Naked Basic Palette (the first thing I’m going to buy in 2014!) and a pair of nice heels.
how are you all doing?
